Croatia Earthquakes

Croatia's has frequent earthquakes that range from 2 - 2.5 magnitude on the Richter scale and their was one on September 3 of 1.3 magnitude ( volcanodiscovery). Earthquakes in Croatia could cause damage to the structures and loss of lives. Their was an earthquake in 2020 of a 6.4 magnitude on the Richter scale that hit the region of Petrinja near Sisak, in the Center of Croatia. This one caused a lot of damage to infrastructure, buildings and loss of life ( Gov.uk).

Croatia is on a major fault line where some experts have thought of Croatia being activally because of where it is located. Their is about 200 earthquakes that happen in Croatia yearly but if the series of earthquakes are taken into consideration theirs more of them happening. According to the USGS, has posted an event page providing more details. Perceived shaking for the earthquake was very strong. The preliminary PAGER report is Orange for economic losses, indicating significant damage is likely and the disaster is potentially widespread. People are able to view this daily and see what is going on around them.
Its important to educate the people around with earthquakes and what they need to be prepared for before and also after the earthquake has finished. Currently not all the buildings in Croatia are earthquake built resistant, not until 1960's when the 6.1 earthquake rocked Macedonia (how to prepare for qaukes ).
